Requirements
- Perform routine custodial tasks according to established maintenance schedules.
- Special assigned duties for floor care including buffing, sealing and stripping, carpet shampoo and extraction, auto scrubbing operations, and pressure washing of the sidewalks.
- Assure maintenance and cleaning of engraved bricks.
- Provide input to the Director of Facilities on general maintenance that may need to be performed, such as light bulb replacement or exhibits repairs.
- Maintain security of the Museum during cleaning while the Museum is closed.
- Undertake other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Facilities, Facilities Manager or the Custodial Supervisor.
- Do general cleaning of assigned areas daily.
- This can and will consist of cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and cleaning of all glass on site.
- Follow the direction of supervisor on duty while assisting in event rental set up.
- Event set up will consist of breaking down and transporting of tables and chairs to designated areas.
Qualifications
- Physical ability to perform manual work.
- Minimum of six months experience in custodial, housekeeping, food service, or other related work.
- Familiarity with cleaning procedures.
- Familiarity with the care and maintenance of custodial equipment.
- Basic knowledge of audio/visual equipment is helpful.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Willingness to work overtime during special events or heavy visitation periods.
