About the Role

Performs custodial and light groundskeeping tasks to maintain school facilities, ensuring a clean, safe, and functional environment. Responsibilities include indoor cleaning, outdoor maintenance, and minor upkeep tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, walls, fixtures, and restrooms
• Empty trash and dispose of waste
• Requisition and manage cleaning supplies
• Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance tasks
• Conduct outdoor grounds cleanup, including snow shoveling and debris removal
• Set up furniture and adjust climate controls as needed
• Open and secure buildings
• Raise and lower flags
• Assist with pest control

Requirements

• Some custodial experience or equivalent training
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license
• Physical ability to operate cleaning equipment and exert moderate force
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment

Physical Demands

This role involves physical activity, including medium work (exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently). Tasks may require operating cleaning equipment and performing routine maintenance.
