Custodian (Disability Required) - Fort Drum
About the role
Perform general cleaning tasks and maintain work areas as assigned.
Essential Functions
- Use high and low speed maintenance equipment as assigned
- Trash removal
- Sweep/mop/dust/vacuum as assigned
- Wet mop
- Perform restroom disinfectant and cleaning as assigned
- Wash windows
- Monitor use of equipment and report any malfunctions or problems to supervisor
- Practice "Safety First"
Qualifications
- Experience in janitorial work preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance
- Must be capable of working on feet for extended periods of time
- Must provide your own transportation to work
- Must be able to read and identify MSD sheets and various chemical labels and markings
- Must be willing to learn proper use of cleaning agents and usage of various supplies
- Must be willing to learn proper maintenance and safety features of both light and heavy custodial equipment

Schedule
Up to 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime may be required. Nights and/or weekends and holiday work, depending on needs related to the contract. May also require occasional daytime work.
Work environment
This position operates in all areas of the facility including, but not limited to, administration area, warehouse areas, customer service area, and restrooms.
Physical demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; lift; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Work may require lifting, pushing, or pulling in excess of 50 pounds.
