Salary range: $40,000.22 – $40,000.22.

About the role

Works under the direct supervision of an assigned supervisor. Performs routine cleaning of buildings, facilities, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform light cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, emptying trash cans, changing light bulbs, washing walls and glass, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Apply treatment to various floor surfaces by mopping, scrubbing, stripping, polishing, or shampooing.
• Move furniture and equipment.
• Operate motor-driven cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, buffers, and carpet shampooers.
• Clean snow and debris from sidewalks.
• Pick up and collect trash/litter around facilities.
• Notify supervisor of repairs, maintenance, and large debris work needed for building and equipment.
• Perform additional functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.

Requirements

Physical demands

• Use equipment such as hand tools, shampooers, vacuum cleaners, buffers, shovels, rakes, brooms, and mops.
• Perform heavy work including standing for extended periods and traversing uneven surfaces.
• Bend, reach, pull, push, crouch, and lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. or up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
• Climb ladders.

Working conditions

• Majority of work is performed indoors.
• May be exposed to dust, odors, noise, pollen, and fumes from cleaning solvents.
• Occasional outside work to remove debris from sidewalks, which may require exposure to changing weather conditions.
• Ability to read, write, and understand verbal and written instructions.

Knowledge of proper use of materials such as waxes, detergents, and floor finishes preferred.
