Custodian

About the Role

The Custodian plays a vital role in ensuring that Westmor Industries provides a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for employees, customers, and visitors. This position is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of our facilities, supporting a positive first impression and fostering a productive workspace. Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of all common areas, including lobbies, hallways, offices, and break rooms
• Maintain cleanliness of bathrooms and locker rooms, ensuring they are fully stocked with supplies
• Clean conference rooms and the Training Center, including room setup and air wall adjustments as needed
• Complete routine cleaning tasks, such as:
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors
  • Dusting furniture, fixtures, and surfaces
  • Washing windows, doors, and glass partitions
  • Emptying waste containers and recycling bins
• Perform light maintenance tasks such as painting and touch-ups
• Assist with snow removal around building entrances and walkways to ensure safety
• Keep work areas clean, orderly, and aligned with health and safety standards
• Follow established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure consistent upkeep of facilities
• Take initiative to identify and address cleaning or maintenance needs proactively
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the facilities team and company operations

Requirements

• Prior custodial or facility maintenance experience preferred, but not required
• Strong attention to detail and pride in creating clean, safe spaces
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks
• Strong time management skills to complete jobs efficiently and on schedule
• Basic problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work
• Exhibition of good communication skills when working with fellow employees
• Willingness to help out where needed

Pay

The starting pay range for this position is $18-23 per hour. Final compensation will depend on various factors including skills, experience, and location.

Schedule

Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:00am - 2:30pm
