Custodian

Essential Responsibilities

• Clean and dust all horizontal and vertical surfaces including windows, doors, desks, shelves, intake vents, tables, chairs, and cabinets
• Maintain clean carpets by detailed vacuuming, spot removal and shampooing
• Perform hard surface care for tile, concrete, tabletops, drinking fountains, and counters including buffing, sweeping, washing, polishing, spot removal and disinfecting
• Spot cleaning for walls, light switches, and doors as needed
• Service and sanitize restrooms by cleaning floors, bathtubs, showers, sinks, urinals, toilets, and mirrors
• Absorb spills and clean up accidents immediately
• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen counters, sinks, appliances, and floors
• Empty trash and recycle receptacles; replace liners as needed
• Assist with program space set up as directed (tables, chairs, etc.)
• Monitor and report maintenance repairs
• Maintain outdoor property as needed
• Assist with building repairs as needed, such as painting, moving furniture or plumbing
• Clean and maintain grease trap monthly and reporting the findings to the officers (if applicable)

Additional Responsibilities

• Driving donations to the thrift store

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED preferred or, any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
• Janitorial experience preferred

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Maintains confidentiality
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (preferred), Working knowledge of TEAMS and SharePoint (preferred)
• Willingness to learn new software as needed

Certificates And Licenses

• Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed

Other Information

• Must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license and pass the Salvation Army Motor Vehicle Record check (MVR)
