About the role
This role is vital to ensuring our facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming for worship services, classes, and community events.Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, worship spaces, and common areas
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, disinfect, and restock supplies
- Empty trash and recycling throughout campus buildings
- Auxiliary with event setup and teardown
- Prepare spaces for weekend services and special events
- Follow established custodial procedures and safety standards
- Identify and report maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Auxiliary with seasonal and campus-wide projects
- Work cooperatively with the Facilities team and church staff
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior custodial or cleaning experience helpful but not required
- Ability to work independently and follow structured procedures
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and remain active for extended periods
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
Qualifications
- Training new custodial team members
- Auxiliary with scheduling and daily task coordination
- Serving as a communication bridge between custodial staff and Facilities leadership
- Leading portions of weekend or event preparation
