About the role
Provides routine indoor and outdoor custodial maintenance services for various assigned municipal buildings and grounds.
Responsibilities
- Performs general custodial maintenance of municipal buildings including wall, ceiling, and window washing, upholstery cleaning, dusting, and painting.
- Cleans and maintains floors including carpeting, tile, and concrete.
- Cleans restrooms.
- Removes trash and recyclables.
- Maintains and replenishes cleaning and related supplies and equipment.
- Assists maintenance supervisor and maintenance technician as needed.
- Moves furniture and sets up meeting rooms.
- Performs minor plumbing tasks as required.
- Removes snow and salts walkways.
- Replaces light bulbs when needed.
- Performs other duties as necessary to maintain a properly presentable facility.
Qualifications
- Sufficient strength and dexterity to operate power cleaning equipment safely.
- Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
- Ability to bend and stoop frequently.
- Ability to frequently work on ladders at various heights.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including through email.
- Ability to work with computer/tablet-based work request system.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and ability to work safely and take precautions.
