A Custodian maintains clean, safe, and orderly environments by performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and sanitizing: Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, disinfect restrooms and cafeterias, sanitize all surfaces, including counters, railings, and door handles.
• Waste Management: Empty and reline all trash cans and recyclable containers including production cardboard bins.
• Maintenance Support: Perform basic maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, assist maintenance technicians, and handle landscaping duties and snow removal.
• Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety protocols, including the safe use of chemical cleaners, machinery, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Time Management: Conduct job duties in order of priority and stay productive during slower periods.
• Supply Management: Monitor, restock, and manage inventory of cleaning supplies.

Requirements

• Reliability: Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Attention to Detail: Thoroughness in cleaning and maintenance tasks.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, lift objects up to 50lbs, and perform manual labor.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and cleaning and landscape equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in custodial and janitor work is a plus.

Pay

The hiring range for this position in Binghamton, New York is $16.00-$19.21 per hour. The hiring range for other Bose work locations may vary.
