Position Summary
Manage the Custodial program for the Kansas City Missouri School District, and maintain the highest standard possible. Oversee and train the Assist Custodial Manager and Zone supervisors. Maintain public relations within the facility.
What You'll Be Doing
- Enforce quality standards in each building of responsibility.
- Control hours by scheduling to accommodate school needs.
- Maintain training and attendance records on employees.
- Arrange for adequate coverage of absences.
- Perform monthly inspections with principals or their designees.
- Monitor supplies, equipment usage and inventory.
- Perform quarterly inventories.
- Has technical knowledge regarding chemicals, equipment, procedures, and programs.
- Supervise all Custodial staff in the zone of responsibility.
- Conduct building site visits to observe work performance and act as liaison with school staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Yes To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To:
- A High School Diploma (or G.E.D. certificate) and three years work experience in supervisory position with an emphasis in custodial field.
- OR An Associate’s degree and three years supervisory experience in a related field.
To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, with a background in facilities management and/or business.
Physical Demands
- Sit, stand, walk, speak, hear, use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and fingers.
- Bend, stoop, and lift objects of at least ten pounds.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Visual ability requires mono and color vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Terms Of Employment
Length of work year: In person, 12 months - 261 days
