Custodial Worker - Respect of Florida

This position complies with the Respect of Florida Program, a Florida-based initiative to promote employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Through nonprofit agencies, the program provides employment opportunities in custodial, landscaping, and food preparation services to County and State agencies. The program requires that 51-75% of the services provided be completed by individuals who meet the federal definition of a disability.

Requirements

• Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements for the Respect of Florida Program, which provides employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
• All candidates must pass a background check and may be subject to a federal background check (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Keeps the assigned area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Prepares chemicals for use in cleaning tasks, following provided instructions.
• Cares for equipment and performs routine maintenance and cleaning as needed.
• Performs cleaning duties as instructed and assigned, including but not limited to:
  • Restroom cleaning, replenishing paper products, and soap in restrooms.
  • Office cleaning: empty trash receptacles, dust surfaces, damp wipe surfaces, vacuum, sweep.
  • Removal of trash.
  • Floor cleaning: sweep, dust mop, damp mop, and wet mop.
• Performance of cleaning duties may take place in an indoor or outdoor environment, depending on the customer’s needs.
• All other duties as assigned.
