Custodial Specialist III
Description
The Custodial Specialist III will maintain the facilities in a safe operating condition. Ensure assignments are completed in a safe, proper and timely manner, and will direct assigned workers as necessary. Clean corporate and school facilities as scheduled.
Essential Functions
- Arrange furnishings and equipment for meetings, classroom activities and events.
- Clean all corporate and school facilities as scheduled to provide a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
- Lead: Direct Custodians as assigned for the purpose of maximizing efficiency of staff and meeting shift requirements.
- Provide assistance and on-the-job training.
- Report employee issues to supervisor as they arise and document.
- Respond to requests with a sense of urgency.
- Report maintenance needs promptly.
- Review and inspect all areas in your charge for work quality, accuracy and completeness.
- Keep Supervisor appraised of equipment needs, so staff are equipped to complete jobs efficiently.
- Fill in when there is a shortage of staff.
- Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, assigned staff, and customers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications

- Committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God (e.g. daily spiritual rhythms of prayer, fellowship, Bible study, etc.).
- Prayfully seeks God’s will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA.
- Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices.
- Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).
- Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Three years of experience in custodial work.
Licenses & Certifications
- Washington State Driver’s License.
Software & Equipment Knowledge
- Housekeeping practices, techniques and procedures include carpet and hard floor care.
- Use of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.
- Able to use computerized programs (Agresso Administrator) to process PM's and generate and close work orders.
- Able to use electric buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors and professional steamers.
Other Considerations
- Ability to pass background checks relating to DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions. (WAC 338-113)
- Working hours may vary. May require occasional overtime or unusual hours for emergency needs.
- Maintain a high level of personal appearance, consistent with CRISTA standards.
- Demonstrate dependability and punctuality, making sure they are at work on time.
- Able to read and write in English, understand rules and procedures outlined in the employee’s handbook, as well as carry out directions whether given verbally or written.
- Able to complete assigned tasks in an orderly and timely manner, meeting the “Standard of Clean” by following the schedule set forth for each area.
- Following safety procedures to ensure the safety of self and others is a must.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in carpet cleaning and hard floor care.
