Custodial - Environmental Services Assistant Manager
Position Overview
The Environmental Services Assistant Manager will work with the Environmental Services Manager to coordinate and oversee operations to fulfill contractual and organizational responsibilities effectively. This role involves leading a diverse team, ensuring compliance with cleanliness and sanitation standards, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Responsibilities
Operational Leadership: Plan, supervise, and manage daily operations for both daytime guest services and evening custodial shifts. Oversee sanitation standards across all areas, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with organizational policies. Adjust work schedules to optimize workflow and meet operational demands.
Team Management: Train, and evaluate team members while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. Provide feedback, and support employee development. Foster an inclusive, respectful, and diverse team environment.
Training and Compliance: Develop and implement custodial training programs for safe and effective equipment use. Ensure team compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Promote sustainability initiatives across multiple teams.
Collaboration and Communication: Partner with other departments to align services with established goals and standards. Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Communicate policies and procedures effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Budget and Resource Management: Manage supply inventory and ensure maintenance of stock and equipment. Event Support: Assign and supervise event setup, monitoring, and teardown. Ensure event spaces and public areas are clean and well-maintained.
Qualifications
Proven ability to lead diverse teams and implement effective operational strategies.
Advanced technical knowledge of custodial equipment and best practices.
Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate policies and procedures clearly.
Familiarity with federal, state, and local compliance regulations.
Experience managing budgets and analyzing operational costs.
Passion for sustainability and environmental practices is a plus.
Ability to solve problems proactively and develop practical, well-reasoned solutions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to safely operate custodial equipment such as trash compactors, floor scrubbers, pressure washers, and vehicles.
Capability to perform basic equipment maintenance and repairs.
Compensation And Benefits
Full-Time, non-exempt, eligible for overtime pay.
Paid Time Off plan: up to 144 hours based on tenure.
