Custodial

Part-time, events-based hourly position within the Operations department, reporting to the Custodial Supervisor.

About the role

Responsible for performing general clean-up and janitorial duties throughout the Resch Center and Resch Expo.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and embody the PMI Entertainment Group Culture and Customer Service values.
• Confer daily with supervisor to receive tasks and priority assignments.
• Perform cleaning and janitorial tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, and waxing.
• Clean up spills and biohazard spills to maintain a safe environment for patrons and employees.
• Note and report any irregularities or discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
• Perform event set-up and tear-down, as necessary.
• Follow, observe, and participate in all Company-related safety programs, procedures, and training, as well as report potentially unsafe procedures.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Approximately three to six months of related work experience required to gain a full understanding of custodial operations.
• Proven interpersonal skills to interact with supervisor, coworkers, event staff, visitors, and outside exhibitors.
• Physical abilities and endurance to lift and move equipment repeatedly throughout the work shift.
• Ability to operate a floor buffer, carpet shampoo machine, automatic driving floor scrubber, floor sweeper, and other related equipment.
• Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedule.
• Full range of body motion, manual and finger dexterity to operate cleaning and outdoor equipment, and eye-hand coordination.
• Standing, climbing, bending, and walking for extensive periods of time.
• Frequently handle and lift, carry, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to operate simple to complex and heavy-duty machinery.
• Vision correctable to 20/20 and hearing within normal range.
• Ability to distinguish and identify colors.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with irregular hours.
• Ability to give, receive, and analyze information.

Work environment

• Occasionally exposed to temperature extremes, noise, confined spaces, and moisture/dampness when performing building custodial services.
