Custodial Associate (On-Call)

Job Summary

The Custodial Associate position at Le Jardin Academy requires applicants to be authorized to work in the United States. For inquiries or applications, contact the Facilities Manager at 808-261-0707, ext 1550.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Operate custodial equipment.
• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, lockers, breakroom, concession and other areas as assigned.
• Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces, door knobs, light switches daily.
• Empty trash and recycling bins, ensuring proper disposal.
• Maintain cleanliness of floors, windows, and surfaces.
• Strip, wax, buff and deep clean floors as scheduled.
• Wash windows, mirrors, whiteboards, and walls/sills as needed.
• Aid in the setup and cleanup of facilities for daily lunch service.
• Restock consumable supplies daily.
• Respond to reactive calls for cleaning and sanitation.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the Facilities Manager.
• Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Work in classrooms, gymnasiums, offices, and restrooms, as well as outdoor spaces in courtyards and around buildings.
• Assist with event setups and breakdowns for meetings and special events.

Qualifications

• One-year related experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Experience working in a school setting is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Work independently and frequently without direct supervision.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Ability to drive golf cart and motor vehicle.
• Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, lifting up to 50 pounds, with a minimum of 25 pounds lifted and carried.
• Specific vision ability required includes 20/20 vision (corrected or uncorrected).
• Specific hearing ability required includes the ability to pass a hearing test (corrected or uncorrected).
