Position Summary
Join our exciting & dedicated team at Vallen as a Customer Service Representative (CSR). In this position, you will work at a customer location and are responsible for providing exceptional service to Vallen's customers by purchasing products, goods, and materials that meet the organization's exceptional standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Works to ensure the accuracy of shipments to the customer.
- Affixes bar codes at customer site to generate customer orders.
- Performs VMI functions at vending point of use areas: loading, receiving and minor repairs or changes, including mandatory communication with direct supervisor and the sales team.
- Maintains awareness of min/max, reorder point/quantity and reports observations back to management.
- Recommends changes to the customer inventory levels based on usage.
- Maintains and cultivates relationships with one or more suppliers, vendors, and assigned customers.
- Identifies opportunities for and documents customer cost savings.
- Follows all Vallen and customer Standard Operating Procedures.
- Adheres to operating practices; ensures worksite is professional, clean and neat always.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience in the field of Procurement preferred.
- Excellent customer service.
- Computer skills and aptitude to learn the various Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Inventory Management applications.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail, organizational and execution skills.
- Proficiency with MS-Office products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willing to learn
Job Qualifications
Long periods of time working on a computer and performing repetitive key-boarding activities.
Work may be in a manufacturing environment and could have exposure to dirt, smoke, heat, cold, etc.
Safety protection may be required while in the customer's facility (hand, foot, and eye or other as dictated by the customer's safety protocols).
