About the Role

This position is located at the Milliken Cushman site in Williamston, SC and reports to Engineering. The role is responsible for maintaining the plant production equipment and auxiliary equipment (including material handling, pumps, motors, air compressors, boilers, & chillers) at or above expected physical condition to produce high-quality products on schedule. Responsibilities include keeping required maintenance records and schedules, as well as managing needed parts and supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, including but not limited to programmable controls, numerical controls, power supplies, drives, gages, and test equipment.
  • Reinstall guards and safety equipment correctly after completion of any work.
  • Ensure D.C./A.C. motors, breakers, and other equipment switches are in good working order.
  • Read electrical drawings and ensure electrical components of machinery are operating properly.
  • Assist other engineering associates to perform work as required to keep production machinery and auxiliary equipment in working order.
  • Inform appropriate management and maintenance/production associates of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
  • Assist Maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness and fully participate in the Milliken Safety Process.

Requirements

  • Preferred: Two-year technical degree in an electrical-related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Able to work well with various groups of people, such as vendors, customers, and Milliken associates, whether individually or in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and use resources creatively.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Able to work well and communicate with production associates to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Able to lift and move objects of 50 pounds and be capable of using motorized equipment (fork trucks, tuggers, etc.).
