Cushion Fill Associate (Weekend)

About the role

This position is in the cushion fill department at the Booneville, MS facility, operating as a machine operator on the weekend shift. The associate will work throughout the department to fill cushions, backs, and pillows into covers and regulate them to specification according to assigned standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include using cushion machines and other tools to meet hourly and daily departmental goals in safety, service, quality, and cost for Sutter Street Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Practice safe work habits and adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards throughout the facility.
  • Follow Williams-Sonoma policies with a positive attitude, professional courtesy, and high integrity.
  • Perform daily tasks promptly and accurately using documented Standard Operating Procedures to meet production goals.
  • Promote teamwork and collaboration to maximize productivity while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Communicate openly with departmental leadership to address issues and obstacles.
  • Fill and regulate cushions and pillows per standard operating procedures to maintain a production rate of 6–8 pieces per hour.
  • Ensure tags and tickets are correctly placed on items for accurate inventory tracking.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in cushion fill production in an upper-end upholstered furniture manufacturing environment.
  • Good oral and written communication skills; ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to read production tickets and interpret simple instructions in standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet delivery requirements.
  • Strong teamwork, time management, and sense of urgency to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for 12-hour periods and bend/twist at the waist and knees.
  • Frequently lift and pull items weighing 20–25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.

Schedule

Friday – Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM.
