About the role

Join a world-class Product Design (UX) and Accessibility team responsible for connecting the guest to the product and UX team for key context and insights that better inform the design process. Here, we pride ourselves on designing tangible, inspiring and impactful solutions that serve our guests, team members and business. And we make sure that all of Target's Digital experiences, both in-store and online, are fully accessible to people with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support the full design process, from discovery and testing to handoff and quality assurance.
  • Contribute to design deliverables with support from more senior product designers, including visual design and flows that are intuitive, elegant and provide value for our guests while accounting for a variety of scenarios.
  • Leverage your ability to step back from interface design to think through guest tasks or journeys in terms of structure and information architecture.
  • Advocate for consistency and restraint by actively utilizing and contributing to our design system.
  • Partner and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of UX designers, UX writers, engineers, product managers, QA staff, accessibility consultants, data analysts and UX researchers.
  • Through this partnership, you’ll learn to leverage data and guest insights to inform design decisions.
  • Participate in guest research and learn to conduct your own with leadership from our UX research team.
  • Partner with other teams across Target (apps, marketing, pricing & promotions, item, etc) to ensure cohesiveness in the guest experience.

Requirements

  • 1+ years’ experience in digital software product work, with user experience emphases in research, UX architecture, interaction design and/or visual design
  • Bachelor’s degree with focus on User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field
  • A portfolio featuring product design work
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern design and prototyping tools (such as Sketch and InVision)
  • Awareness of data and research methodologies and ability to partner with research experts

Qualifications

  • Experience in digital software product work, with user experience emphases in research, UX architecture, interaction design and/or visual design
  • A Bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
  • A portfolio showcasing product design work
  • Knowledge of modern design and prototyping tools (such as Sketch and InVision)
  • Ability to partner with research experts and understand data and research methodologies

Skills

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles
  • Experience with user research methods and data analysis
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch and InVision
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team

Pay

The pay range is $17.98 - $135,700.00. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications.
