Culture Laboratory Technician I

This role supports our mission by performing data entry and processing of biological indicator spore strip tests in a high-volume culture lab, primarily serving the dental industry for autoclave performance testing and sterility assurance.

Responsibilities

• Sort and label test envelopes and perform data entry based on information provided in envelopes
• Aseptically transfer spore strips into test tubes
• Operate fill machines and ensure proper media fill into tubes, including setup and breakdown
• Follow SOPs to ensure appropriate incubation protocol
• Remove samples from incubators and visually examine for bacterial growth
• Routine cleaning of laboratory glassware and equipment
• Daily monitoring of incubator temperatures
• Count and open test envelopes
• Clean work area
• Process media and restock supplies
• Participate in the onboarding and training/cross-training of lab technicians within your area(s) of capability
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Preferred experience in a laboratory operation or technical/scientific field
• Basic computer competency
• Some knowledge of aseptic laboratory techniques
• Microscope familiarity is preferred
• Attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Well-focused with a sense of urgency
• Good work ethic and ability to function as part of a team
