About the role
The Cultural Program Coordinator (CPC) assists in language teaching through instruction, tutoring, and speaking Russian with students living in the language house. This position is coordinated through Residential Life.
Responsibilities
- Teaches three language maintenance classes - 6 hours/week ranging from beginning to advanced language levels.
- Tutors 4-5 hours weekly.
- Coordinates cultural programming for the Language House, including arranging cultural activities open to the larger campus community and targeting current language students.
- Attends Residential Life training sessions and maintains appropriate documentation and records.
- Organizes, plans, and executes cultural programs for house residents and the campus community.
- Collaborates with the Director of Study Abroad and Residential Life Coordinator to create programs preparing students for experiences abroad and reconnecting students returning from abroad.
- Recruits and selects house members, working under the direction of the Residential Life Coordinator and Spanish Department faculty.
- Maintains regular meetings with the Residential Life Coordinator and faculty advisor/mentor.
- Coordinates the storage and maintenance of items provided to the house by the Office of Residential Life.
- Serves as a visible presence in the house and acts as a role model to house residents, abiding by all College and Residential Life policies.
- Contacts student staff (Resident Advisor) when policy violations are encountered and keeps the Resident Advisor and/or Residential Life Coordinator informed about any concerns regarding the house or its members.
- Supports and contributes to the goal of achieving greater diversity and being committed to contributing to an anti-racist campus culture at Colorado College.
- Affirms a culture of safety and environmental protection by working in a safe manner; immediately reporting unsafe situations and accidents; following College procedures; requesting and using appropriate protective equipment; and participating in appropriate safety training.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts in Russian language.
- Master of Arts in Russian preferred.
- Experience teaching non-native speakers of Russian at the undergraduate College/University level or the equivalent.
Qualifications
- Proficient in both Russian and English.
- Good communicative skills.
- Enthusiastic about Russian culture.

- Ability to teach Russian to non-Russian speakers.
