Cultivation Technician- Outdoor

About the Role

As a Cultivation Technician, you will provide expert care and maintenance to grow healthy, strong cannabis plants, overseeing all aspects of plant growth. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated, positive individual who enjoys potting, pruning, and tending to cannabis plants with precision. Due to the heavily regulated nature of the cannabis industry, all employees must follow safety and compliance regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plant Life:
  • Topping and bottoming plants
  • Transplanting and defoliating
  • Tending to various grow media
  • Scouting for disease or insects
  • Training plants
  • Adhering to national grow model and standards
• Harvest (smaller sites):
  • Preparing rooms for harvest
  • Harvesting and taking down plants
  • Defoliating and breaking plants into smaller pieces
  • Hanging plants on dry racks
  • Cleaning dry and flower rooms between harvests
• Sanitation:
  • Sweeping, mopping, and other required cleaning
  • Cleaning plant housing devices
  • Maintaining and cleaning plant tables
  • Maintaining plant pots
  • Reporting issues to management for timely resolution
• Safety & Compliance:
  • Being aware of workspace hazards
  • Retaining and understanding department-specific training
  • Reporting safety incidents and complying with follow-up actions
  • Complying with area safety requirements, state regulations, and PPE requirements
  • Following GMP, biosecurity, sanitation, and other quality/compliance requirements
  • Performing accurate and complete record-keeping as directed
  • Maintaining, calibrating, and reporting on tools, equipment, and machinery
  • Escalating safety and quality concerns

Working Conditions

• Regularly perform reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions
• Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods while maintaining focus
• Must lift, carry, and balance up to 50 pounds with extreme care and caution when handling product
• Work in environments of 85+ degrees and 70% humidity for extended periods
• Work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment
• Able and willing to work at heights of 6ft–8ft using catwalk platforms, ladders, platform ladders, and scaffolds
• Daily exposure to allergens such as cannabis, tree nuts, and coconut oil

Requirements

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; Associate degree or certifications preferred
• Prior cannabis experience not required
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must possess a valid state ID
• Must be able to obtain and maintain state badging requirements (requires background check and state review)

Pay

Competitive pay range based on experience, qualifications, and location: $19–$20 USD per hour. Positions may be eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
