About the Role

The Cultivation Technician II provides manual labor to support the operations within the Cultivation department, while abiding by laws, rules, policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. This position primarily supports the Mom and Vegetative departments with day-to-day plant production tasks and sanitation responsibilities. As determined by business need, team members may also be flexed to provide support in flower and propagation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical, repetitive agricultural work, follow directions, and take instructions from supervisors
  • Repetitive climbing on a ladder or working on an elevated platform
  • Culling plants
  • Pruning, topping, and defoliation
  • Low-stress training and tucking of plants
  • Irrigating plants utilizing various methods
  • Identifying and disposing of green waste
  • Cleaning and sanitation as directed by leadership
  • Proper use of PPE in accordance with company guidelines
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and bag any excess plant material, leaving the grow room clean once plant maintenance is completed
  • Assist in training Cultivation Technician I team members
  • Clean, sanitize, and store all grow room tools and equipment upon use
  • Perform various manual cross-department job duties as needed
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must be proficient and achieve goals in all Cultivation Technician I skill assessments
  • Must be active in the Cultivation Technician I role for a minimum of 9 months to qualify for Cultivation Technician II role
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age (or a minimum of 18 years of age in CT, PA, and WV)
  • Must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening
  • Cultivation experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to handle organic matter daily
  • Able to wear PPE as appropriate (eye, face, hand, arm, head, foot, body, fall protection)
  • Able to be exposed to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions while wearing PPE (95 degrees or greater)
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 lbs to a minimum height of 5 feet and able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet, with or without mechanical assistance
  • Must be able to work seated/standing as appropriate at workstations for extended periods
  • Maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders, stairways, stooping, kneeling, crouching, repetitive movement, and reaching
  • Use hands/fingers to hold, grasp, turn, pick, pinch frequently/constantly to complete tasks (entire shift may be spent standing)
  • Requires repetitive hand, wrist, finger, and elbow movement
  • Must have visual acuity with/without job aids to perform activities such as reading, viewing a computer terminal, and visual inspection involving small parts/details
  • Clarity of vision at 20 ft or more in day and night/dark conditions
  • Must be able to speak and communicate verbally at conversation levels with co-workers, vendors, etc. (moderate noise)
