About the role
The Cultivation Staff member will assist in all aspects of crop production including, but not limited to, seeding, cutting, transplanting, pruning, harvesting, drying, watering, pest and disease scouting, crop manipulation and training, building and equipment cleaning, and sterilization. This will be out of the Madison, OH location.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with management to ensure crops are healthy and on-schedule.
- Assists in all aspects of crop production including seeding, cutting, cloning, pruning, and training.
- Assists in harvest and post-harvest activities including cutting, weighing, hanging, branching, bucking, freezing, and bulk packaging for transport.
- Maintains a clean and sterile environment including sweeping, mopping, washing of trays and inserts, etc.
- Maintains biosecurity protocols and reports any breaches or questionable actions directly to Director of Cultivation.
- Assists in crop inspection, disease and pest reporting, and other aspects of IPM protocol including pesticide applications and beneficial insect releases.
- Maintains current knowledge of latest production techniques and practices.
- Maintains the working environment to ensure that company hygiene, health & safety policies and procedures are complied with.
- Ensures compliance with state regulations for all aspects of Cannabis production.
- Ensures all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed and maintained.
- Communicate with management in the development and improvement of best crop production practices to improve quality, efficiency, and yield of crops grown.
- May be assigned other job duties if necessary.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to talk or hear.
- Frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to lift products and supplies, up to 30 pounds.
- Requires the ability to withstand higher temperatures 75 – 95 degrees and elevated humidity levels.
- Requires working under intense, bright lights with sunglasses provided for eye protection.
- Requires the passing of a respirator fit test and the ability to wear a full-face respirator when chemical safety labels require one.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:10 a.m. to 4:10 p.m. Occasionally working after hours which may include holidays or weekends.
Travel
There may be occasional local day travel.
Required Education And Experience
- Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiasm about the Medical Marijuana Industry.
Preferred Education And Experience
- Two to five years of previous crop production experience (not necessarily Cannabis).
