About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Culinary Supervisor to join our culinary team. The Culinary Supervisor will work under the Executive Chef and other culinary leaders, playing a vital role in maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation while ensuring a seamless kitchen operation. A flexible schedule is required to meet the dynamic needs of our kitchen.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, safety, and presentation adhere to company standards.
- Support the preparation and cooking of meals, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Work closely with fellow chefs and kitchen staff to prioritize tasks and maintain effective communication.
- Conduct inspections of food items and kitchen areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior team members, fostering their development and adherence to culinary standards.
- Collaborate with the Chef de Cuisine on menu changes and new recipe development, ensuring alignment with guest preferences.
- Help manage food inventory and supplies, ensuring proper storage, portioning, and waste reduction.
- Assist in monitoring payroll costs and overtime, ensuring efficient staff management.
- Oversee and support hourly cooks, ensuring they meet the required standards and operational needs.
Qualifications
- Previous cooking experience in a culinary role, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
- Understanding of culinary education, basic cost control, strong communication and leadership skills, and proficiency in computer skills.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen management practices.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $25/hour to $30/hour. Decisions regarding individual salaries will be based on experience, qualifications, and education.
