Culinary Services Aide I

About the role

The Culinary Services Aide I ensures kitchen equipment is cleaned, food orders are prepared according to patient needs, dining rooms are set up and cleaned, and food carts are delivered.

Responsibilities

• Washes, sanitizes and stores dishware, silverware, pots and pans and trays.
• Checks patients' food order for accuracy according to diet needs prior to delivery.
• Supports aides in the kitchen and café as needed.
• Washes and sanitizes tables in the cafeteria and counters in the vending area.
• Delivers food carts to various departments.
• Stores and rotates food and supplies in unit refrigerators and freezers.
• Monitors and records temperatures of cooler, milk and coffee.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age; high-school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English; follow verbal and written directions, complete simple calculations.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to stand the majority of shift.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $14.81–$20.91. This range reflects the base wage and does not include shift differential pay.

Schedule

• 56 hours per two-week pay period (0.7 FTE).
• Scheduled shifts may begin as early as 6:00 a.m. or as late as 10:00 a.m., with end times ranging from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
• Every other weekend and rotating holiday schedule.
• Call shifts as needed, with a casual/call minimum of three shifts per month.
