Culinary Director

About the role

The Culinary Director manages the culinary service department to provide quality food and nutritional services to residents. This role involves therapeutic meal service based on RDA requirements and standards, supervising and leading culinary staff, and ensuring consistent quality in services.

Responsibilities

• Manage the culinary service department to ensure quality food and nutritional services.
• Provide therapeutic meal service based on RDA requirements and standards.
• Supervise and lead all Culinary Services personnel.
• Plan, organize, control, and direct all functions of the Culinary Services department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of or currently enrolled in an approved Culinary Services Director’s course meeting state and federal long-term care regulations.
• Management and leadership qualities, basic understanding of budgeting, food purchasing, and menu planning.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to improving culinary services for older persons.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Employment eligibility after passing a criminal background check according to Minnesota Department of Human Services guidelines.
• Experience in healthcare, skilled nursing facility, or assisted living community preferred.
