Culinary Arts and Bistro Aide

Part-time position supporting the high school Culinary Arts program and managing the student-run restaurant, The Bistro.

About the role

This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, organized, and professional kitchen and dining environment while assisting the instructor and students during lab and service hours. Responsibilities include preparing for daily service, overseeing inventory and supplies, and helping students develop skills in food preparation, customer service, and restaurant operations.

• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional kitchen and dining environment

Requirements

• Prior experience in the food service industry, including restaurant operations, front-of-house service, and point-of-sale systems
• Strong understanding of kitchen safety protocols
• Ability to work collaboratively with high school students and staff
• Flexible, organized, and committed to supporting a high-quality career technical education program
• Must obtain appropriate educational aide certification, including successful background check (both FBI and BCII)
