Culinary Aide

About the role

Majestic Care of Sagamore Hills is seeking a Culinary Aide to support our mission and core values: Listening, Empathy, Accountability, and Decisiveness (LEAD with Love). The Culinary Aide works in Nutrition Services under the supervision of the Director of Nutrition and Food Services and Lead Culinary Cook, assisting with meal preparation, tray line service, and special events while maintaining direct resident contact.

Responsibilities

• Operate the dish machine and various food service equipment.
• Assist with tray line assembly and restorative dining programs.
• Prepare food as assigned, including desserts, beverages, and nourishment for special activity events.
• Clean and de-lime the dish machine, and maintain the dish machine area in a sanitary condition.
• Store clean equipment and utensils properly.
• Assist in maintaining preparation and service areas in a sanitary condition.
• Put away stock and set up dietary tray cards.
• Deliver food carts to resident meal service locations.
• Empty garbage in dumpsters and sanitize garbage cans.
• Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and community staff.
• Adhere to strict serving time guidelines and sanitation control policies (Critical Control Point).
• Set up the dish machine area, check temperatures, and monitor soap dispensing levels.
• Scrape, pre-wash, and stack soiled dishes.

Requirements

• General education.
• Experience in food service preferred.
• Knowledge of quality improvement, infection control, portion control, sanitation procedures, and serving techniques.
• Ability to work well with people and follow department policies and procedures.
