Job Goal
The primary goal is to equip students with the practical skills necessary to learn how to design software and applications.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid State of Arizona CTE Teaching Certificate - Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies, OR Specialized Career and Technical Education Industrial and Emerging Technologies, OR Career and Technical Education Business and Marketing, OR Specialized Career and Technical Education Business and Marketing certificate
- Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Broad knowledge of computer science, hardware, and software applications
- Experience with Career and Technical Education is desired
- Knowledge of instructional practices that support student-centered learning
Core Job Functions
- Demonstrate expertise in the field of Software & App Design (Computer Science)
- Oversee a Career and Technical Student Organization (FBLA or SkillsUSA)
- Develop and work with advisory committees and stakeholders
- Participate in recruitment needs for the program
- Plans and implements a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students within the district curriculum
- Uses effective teaching techniques and materials to implement established curriculum goals and objectives
- Creates a weekly written lesson plan describing daily learning experiences - this weekly lesson plan is to be correlated with the aims and/or objectives in the curriculum guide and/or course outline
- Maintains accurate, complete, legible, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation
- Takes necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities

Physical Requirements
- Positions in this classification often require physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, and sitting
- The job involves finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), and focusing ability
- Employees may be exposed to travel, odors, dust, poor ventilation, workspace restrictions, and loud noises
- The work may require lifting or exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently

Additional Stipends
- + $5,400 in stipends
- + $2,500 CTE stipend available depending on meeting district requirements (prorated based on FTE and start date)

Performance Pay
- Available annually
New Hire Experience Credit
- $400 for each full-time year of certified teaching or verified like experience, max $2800, National Board Certification $3,000 annually
New Hire Education Credit
- $80/hour of graduate level credits: BA +96 hours max, MA +96 hours max, $1250 for first advanced degree,$500 for each additional advanced degree
