CT tourism generated $20.1B in economic impact in 2025...
Connecticut’s tourism industry generated an estimated $20.1 billion in economic activity in 2025, with visitation increasing 3.1% from the previous year—more than double the national growth rate. The state welcomed 72.2 million visitors, up from 70 million in 2024, while direct visitor spending reached $12.3 billion. Tourism supported 125,167 jobs, accounting for about 5% of all employment in Connecticut, and generated $1.6 billion in state and local tax revenue.
Momentum has continued into 2026, with statewide hotel occupancy rising 4.3% through June, compared to 1.3% nationally and a 0.8% decline across New England. A separate Brand Perception and Health Study found that consumers exposed to Connecticut tourism marketing were 23% more likely to plan a visit within the next year, with 61% taking action toward trip planning. Governor Ned Lamont noted that travelers increasingly recognize the state’s diverse attractions, including its food, culture, history, coastline, and cities.
Mystic Aquarium is a major tourism destination in Connecticut, contributing to the state’s growing appeal as a travel hub.
