Part-time, rotating shift position at Chelsea Hospital.
About the role
Operates CT scanners to obtain images for use by providers in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies and disease. Prepares patients for procedures, administers contrast media, and operates scanners according to protocol using ALARA techniques. Up to $5,000 sign-on bonus available for new part-time hires. Registered radiologic technologists without prior CT experience can be hired and trained in CT by accepting the terms of the sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Provides quality patient care considering age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs.
- Reviews patient charts and radiological history to determine proper protocol.
- Identifies patients, ensures proper positioning and immobilization.
- Explains procedures, providing reassurance and instructions.
- Operates CT equipment and performs quality control checks.
- Administers contrast media and monitors for adverse reactions.
- Documents patient history, reactions, and follows up with referring physicians.
- Observes patient condition during CT exams and initiates emergency actions if necessary.
- Maintains cleanliness and follows infection control procedures.
- Applies radiation safety knowledge and adheres to radiation safety regulations.
- Schedules CT exams for optimal efficiency and equipment utilization.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ARRT(R) registered radiographer.
- Advanced CT certification or CT registry-eligible (certification within one year of hire).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Experience working in trauma and stroke centers (preferred).
- Experience with venipuncture, cross-sectional anatomy, post-processing/3D, cardiac CTA, and CT-guided procedures (preferred).
