Position Summary

Under the direction of a qualified physician, performs both neuro and body scans on patients from neonate to geriatric, following the age-specific guidelines, transmitting images for diagnostic interpretation, and keeping the hospital computer system up to date with the progress of these exams. The CT technologist actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Performs a variety of technical scanning procedures that require independent judgment and initiative as required in the application of ionizing radiation for CT procedures. Be responsible for designated areas, policies, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform neuro and body CT scans on patients across all age groups (neonate to geriatric) following age-specific guidelines
• Transmit images for diagnostic interpretation
• Keep hospital computer system updated with exam progress
• Participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships with all
• Perform technical scanning procedures requiring independent judgment and initiative in the application of ionizing radiation for CT procedures
• Take responsibility for designated areas, policies, and equipment

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of Cross-Sectional Anatomy and Pathology
• Knowledge of Siemens and Philips CT scan equipment
• Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds
• Adult and child/infant CPR
• Knowledge of PACS and associated equipment

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
• Associate's degree (preferred)
• ARRT (R) (CT) (preferred)
• Must obtain CT ARRT within 1 year
• Florida State License - General Radiographer
• CPR Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Must be able to pass Background and Drug Test screenings

Experience

• One-year minimum experience
• Organizational and customer service skills and ability to handle multiple tasks

Pay and Schedule

• Full Time
• Schedule: Monday - Wednesday 8 pm - 7 am; Saturday 7 am - 7 pm
• Sign-on Bonus: $15,000 with a 2-year contract
