About the role

The County of Riverside's Computed Tomography unit at Riverside University Health Systems - Medical Center seeks full-time and per-diem CT Technologists to join our team in Moreno Valley. This position performs a variety of routine and advanced imaging procedures, including the production of diagnostic images of the human anatomy and vascular structures following prescribed protocols using radiographic equipment, computers, and detectors.

Pay

• Regular Full-time Rates: $48.3407 - $71.3515 hourly
• Per Diem CT Technologist Rate: $71.3515 hourly

Schedule

• Full-Time: 12-hour shifts, nights 7:00pm - 7:30am
• Per Diem: 12-hour shifts, nights 7:00pm - 7:30am, weekend rotation, holiday rotation, and on-call

Located in Moreno Valley, our 439-bed Medical Center includes a Level I Trauma Center, a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, and the county’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures as ordered, achieving high-quality diagnostic images and critiquing them for accuracy; adjust factors if an image needs repeating.
• Offer expertise to physicians regarding the appropriateness of additional or modified studies.
• Explain all studies to patients in a caring manner; provide resources about the CT exam and refer patients or family members to a physician as needed.
• Identify, prepare, and/or administer medications as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Ensure patient and self-protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards; maintain patient safety and comfort.
• Conduct daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance.
• Calibrate and operate equipment to ensure scans are correctly and diagnostically executed in minimal time.
• Safely transfer patients to and from carts, beds, and wheelchairs; position patients for comfort and modesty.
• Evaluate images on video display screens for diagnostic quality and artifacts; assess videotapes and computer-generated information for technical quality; take corrective action as needed.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an American Medical Association (AMA)-approved Diagnostic Radiologic Technology training program.
• One year of hospital CT experience or equivalent is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Current valid State of California Radiologic Technologist License & Fluoroscopy Permit.
• Advanced-level certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography and in Computerized Tomography.
• Venipuncture certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
