About the role
Nemours Children's Health is hiring a Part-Time, CT Technologist to join our Radiology team in Wilmington, Delaware. Work Schedule: part-time, 24 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Perform Computerized Tomography imaging studies while providing a quality healthcare service that includes total patient care in a comfortable, friendly environment.
- Communicate effectively with the public and professional/medical personnel.
- Participate in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations, and implementing actions as appropriate.
- Operate Siemens SOMATOM Dual Energy Flash, Siemens Edge with Biopsy functions, and post processing workstations.
- Administer and document contrast media per departmental protocols under the direct supervision of a radiologist.
- Evaluate patients and obtain written screening for administration of contrast media.
- Determine proper radiation exposure factors for CT to minimize patient dose according to protocols set by the radiologist.
- Maintain work habits consistent with hospital and department policies, report unsafe conditions and incidents to the immediate supervisor, and demonstrate safe work habits.
- Operate hospital computer systems for patient data entry and retrieval/order entry and complete study.
- Assist radiologists by evaluating patients and obtaining written screening for administration of contrast media.
- Inject contrast material for imaging studies.
- Screen patients to be imaged for contraindications that may be hazardous to their health or to the safety of others.
- Prepare and administer IV’s and inject contrast material for imaging studies.
- Ensure proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance.
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide care with respect to the appropriate specific chronological age, development age or social maturity of the patient.
- Aid in the training of new personnel, students, and physicians.
- Work a flexible schedule, have reliable transportation, and be able to work on an on-call basis.
Requirements
- Specialized (1 year of training beyond high school) required.
- Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year prior CT experience required.
- State of Delaware Radiology Technologist License required within 90 days of employment.
- ARRT/Radiographer and CT certified or CT post primary Board Certified within 18 months of employment.
- American Heart Association BLS Certification required.
Qualifications
Aids in the training of new personnel, students, and physicians. Regular attendance is required and this position is considered essential for purposes of staffing during severe weather emergencies and other natural disasters. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, have reliable transportation, and be able to work on an on-call basis.
