Ct Technologist - Part Time

Overview

The CT Technologist performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three‑dimensional images for interpretation and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures. Eligible for a pro‑rated sign‑on bonus for part‑time CT Technologist positions accepted on or before October 22, 2026. Coverage at Ocean Care Center in Point Pleasant is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex CT procedures.
• Evaluate radiographs to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value.
• Gather relevant information from medical records, health‑care proxies, and providers to prepare scanning protocols and ensure patient safety.
• Determine patient preparation adequacy and prep patients for scanning (shielding, immobilization devices).
• Assist providers with CT‑guided interventional procedures as required.
• Perform CT examinations and administer contrast following departmental protocols.
• Provide clear explanations and instructions to patients at an appropriate level.
• Address and document patient questions and concerns regarding the procedure.
• Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures per guidelines.
• Monitor the patient’s physical condition during the procedure.
• Review images to decide if additional scans are needed to enhance diagnostic value.
• Perform retrospective reconstruction on raw data.
• Provide technical assistance and instruction to students, employees, and medical residents.
• Adhere to the principles of “image gently & image wisely.”
• Follow infection‑control guidelines and sterile techniques.
• Revise scanning parameters to better visualize pathology in accordance with protocol.
• Review all diagnostic or therapeutic data for completeness and accuracy.
• Document diagnostic, treatment, and patient data in the appropriate record.
• Archive images to data storage devices according to guidelines.
• Assess equipment performance against established standards.
• Perform daily clerical duties using EPIC, PACS, Teletracking, patient scheduling, and other computer systems.
• Greet patients upon arrival using AIDET standards.
• Administer emergency care, including CPR, when necessary.
• Work scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends; provide overtime and on‑call coverage as needed.
• Follow employee ID, behavior, attendance, and punctuality policies.
• Identify patient‑population needs and modify care delivery to accommodate age, culture, language, and sensory impairments.
• Perform modality‑specific daily and monthly quality assurance.
• Lift a minimum of 25 lb., push/pull a minimum of 50 lb., and stand a minimum of 6 hours per day.
• Complete other duties or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Completion of an AMA‑approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) certification in CT within 9 months of hire.
• New Jersey state license for Diagnostic Radiology (D.R.).
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BCLS) certification within 60 days of hire.

Pay

Minimum rate of $44.30 hourly. The posted rate is a good‑faith estimate of the minimum base pay at the time of posting and may vary based on market data, experience, education, certifications, skill proficiency, geographic location, internal equity, and budget considerations. Additional incentives such as performance‑based bonuses, shift differentials, or grant‑related funding may apply.
