About the role
The CT Technologist provides high-quality patient care during Computed Tomography (CT) procedures using approved workflows and procedural protocols. This position uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy, aiding radiologists in diagnosing diseases and disorders.
Responsibilities
- Operates head or body x-ray scanners to create computer-generated cross-sectional images (CAT scans).
- Performs routine and special CT exams adhering to established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose while maintaining productivity benchmarks.
- Completes exams and documentation in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), accurately identifying charges and addressing errors for seamless workflow.
- Educates and prepares patients for examinations to enhance understanding, cooperation, and a positive experience.
- Demonstrates commitment to safe practices, Just Culture, and ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to eliminate errors and improve patient outcomes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging, or related educational program.
Qualifications
Accepted licensure/certification:
- ARRT: RT(R)(CT), RT(N)(CT)
- NMTCB: CNMT, NMTCB(CT)
- Combination of ARRT RT(N) and NMTCB(CT) or CNMT and ARRT(CT)
- Combination of ARRT RT(R) and NMTCB(CT) or ARRT RT(T) and NMTCB(CT)
BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
