CT Technologist, Hospital

About the Role

Methodist Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist to join our Radiology team. In this role, you will perform high-quality and accurate diagnostic Computerized Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in accordance with established protocols. You will interact with patients, clinicians, and staff in a professional and courteous manner while applying knowledge of radiation protection, MRI safety, emergency protocols, and regulatory standards. This position also involves educating and training others on MRI equipment operation, procedures, image quality, and exposure techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic CT and MRI scans following established protocols.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort while maintaining professional interactions with patients, clinicians, and staff.
• Apply radiation protection and MRI safety principles, including emergency protocols.
• Comply with regulatory standards and maintain accurate documentation.
• Operate and maintain CT and MRI equipment, including three-dimensional workstations, power injectors, and emergency equipment.
• Train and educate others on equipment operation, image quality, and exposure techniques.
• Utilize EMR processes and PACS proficiently.
• Maintain competency in new equipment and technology.

Requirements

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry required; must be maintained continuously.
• Advanced Registry in CT required within 12 months of working solo in the modality.
• BLS certification required within 6 months of hire and must be maintained.
• Proficiency in specialized imaging systems, such as three-dimensional reconstruction.
• Strong problem-solving skills and discretion with patient information.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and demonstrate strong interpersonal and team-building skills.
• Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles to ensure patient safety.
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate CT equipment, patient transfer devices, security systems, emergency equipment, and other related technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional specialized training or experience in CT and MRI.
• Experience in MRI specialty areas (e.g., Cardiac, Breast, Prostate, 3T) is preferred.

Schedule

Full-time, 1.0 FTE. Primarily 2nd shift, with potential nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call requirements.
