About the role
TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center is looking for a dedicated CT Technologist to perform CT scans, providing the highest level of customer service and image quality.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care
- Prepare procedure trays with appropriate supplies
- Take patient history and retrieve any necessary orders or prior images
- Provide patient history, signs, and symptoms appropriate to the exam to the radiologist
- Appropriately complete documentation
- Coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete
- Support ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles
- Inform patients about procedures and answer questions
- Interact and professionally communicate with physicians, patients, and family members
- Start IVs for contrast administration
- Use the power injector
- Contribute to after-hour coverage through on-call shift rotations
- Maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required as outlined in job qualifications
- Handle daily upkeep of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking, etc.)
- Promote customer service initiatives by adhering to the ICARE values
- Support and participate in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans
- Comply with quarterly targeted metrics (i.e., Kronos, HealthStream, PACS, etc.)
- Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology
- Current ARRT certification with advanced registry, or registry eligible with advanced CT certification within 1 year of hire or within 6 months of eligibility
- 1 year post-graduate experience preferred
- BLS certification required
