CT Technologist

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and ensure patients are properly positioned on the Computer Tomography (CT) table and explain the procedure to them with empathy, addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
• Operate CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting the CT scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, adhering to radiation safety at all times.
• Monitor patients to ensure their comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
• Assist other radiologists by working closely with them, who interpret the images produced by the CT exam; may also assist in administering contrast agents or performing certain procedures.
• Be accountable for the quality assurance of CT scanners/X-ray machines to ensure they function properly and produce accurate images.
• Responsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, ensuring the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygiene.
• Maintain registration status with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Qualifications

• One year of acute, clinical radiology experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic/Fluoroscopic equipment is required.
• Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is required.
• Graduate of a program accredited by ARRT.
• Radiology license and fluoroscopy permit as required by state.
• Effective 07/01/2015, CT ARRT Certification is required.
• Must maintain BCLS (AHA) upon hire.
• Proficient computer skills.
