CT Technician

About the role

Prepares patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures, and performs all CT procedures. Observes patient conditions, transfers and positions patients safely, and practices radiation safety per federal standards and ALARA policy. Operates electronic information systems, compiles records to expedite results, and administers contrast media as required. Participates in continuing education, quality control, and patient teaching involving family or significant others.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all CT procedures in accordance with departmental protocols.
  • Ensure patient safety during transfers and positioning.
  • Practice radiation safety and adhere to ALARA policy.
  • Operate and maintain electronic information systems and compile records for timely results.
  • Administer contrast media as required for procedures.
  • Participate in continuing education activities to meet ARRT requirements.
  • Engage in quality control and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide patient teaching, including family and significant others.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT).
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • ARRT certification in CT within 12 months of hire.

Qualifications

  • Required: Previous experience in Radiology.
  • Preferred: One year of dedicated CT experience.
