Job Summary
The position of Supervisor or Charge Tech will act as the point of contact for their modality to the Assistant Director and Director of Imaging Services. This position assumes all responsibilities of the activities within their area.
Qualifications
- Must be able to perform the clinical, technical, and administrative aspects of the job for their specific area.
- Maintains a healthy work environment.
- Ensures appropriate staffing based on the patient/workload for their area.
- Enforces attendance and tardy policies and reports any discrepancies.
- Ensures new staff/students are trained properly.
- Performs and submits fair and unbiased performance evaluations.
- Responsible for maintaining good order and discipline in the workplace.
- Performs verbal and written disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Creates and maintains appropriate work and call schedules (when applicable).
- Maintains supplies for their area.
- Ensures all equipment are operational and if not, takes immediate and appropriate corrective actions to maintain operations.
- Ensures proper QA and QC procedures are performed.
- Enforces all policies and procedures specific to their modality.
- Runs and reviews “Taken” list daily to ensure that all completed exams are properly closed out in Meditech and in PACS.
- Checks for exams in PACS that are left in “arrived” status daily and conducts appropriate follow-up action to close the loop of service.
- Merges exams in PACS from their department when necessary.
- Holds regularly scheduled staff meetings and conducts in-service training (as required/appropriate) within their modality.
