About the Role

Performs multiple imaging procedures in accordance with established parameters. Provides continuity of patient care. Assists Radiologist with procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient, room, and equipment for procedure.
• Collects history data from patient and provides patient education.
• Provides patient care in accordance with department policy.
• Takes radiographic exposures appropriate to procedure.
• Performs multiple imaging procedures and assists Radiologist with special procedures.
• Performs trauma scanning.
• Assists with CT Guided Biopsies.
• Performs 3D and angiographic scanning procedures.
• Provides radiologist pertinent information for interpretation.
• Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.
• Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served, including:
  • Birth-28 days: Neonate
  • 1-18 Months: Infant
  • 18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler
  • 3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged
  • 6-12 Yrs: School-Aged
  • 12-18 Yrs: Adolescents
  • 18-65 Yrs: Adults
  • 65+ Yrs: Geriatrics

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited program in Radiography.
• ARRT or NMTCB registered. Must have valid IDPH permit to practice.
• Mandatory Reporter. BLS.
• ARRT or NMTCB advanced CT board certification required within 24 months of CT hire.
• High language, intermediate math, high reasoning ability.
• Computer skills preferred.
• Ability to work independently with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to use independent judgment to solve problems.
