About the role

This PRN CT/MRI Tech position supports the The Woodlands location. The role level (1, 2, or Senior) will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT and MRI procedures as ordered, ensuring high-quality results and timely reporting.
  • Provides expertise to physicians regarding the appropriateness of additional or modified studies.
  • Escorts patients to the treatment room and assists with dressings as needed.
  • Completes all necessary paperwork to ensure timely delivery of CT/MRI services.
  • Develops and processes radiologic films and logs completed procedures.
  • Processes routine paperwork and ensures patient and self-protection in accordance with safety standards.
  • Ensures patient safety and comfort while under the technologist’s care.
  • Conducts daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance and reports malfunctions or needed adjustments.
  • Arranges preventive maintenance as recommended by the vendor.
  • Follows prescribed safety standards in operating equipment.
  • Orders, logs, and returns outside films requested from other agencies, completing appropriate documentation.
  • Arranges for the release of films to patients and outside agencies and maintains tracking paperwork for loaned films.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient and medical staff information.
  • Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications based on role level:

Level 1

  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school.
  • Minimum three years of experience as a CT/MRI Technologist.
  • Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required.
  • Current IV and CPR certifications required.
  • Certification in CT and MRI preferred.

Level 2 (in addition to Level 1 requirements)

  • Minimum five years of experience as a CT/MRI Technologist.

Senior Level (in addition to Level 1 and 2 requirements)

  • Minimum seven years of experience as a CT/MRI Technologist.

Physical Demands

  • Full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operating and repairing equipment.
  • Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Lifts and pushes patients in wheelchairs or stretchers weighing up to 300 pounds and positions them for procedures.
  • Ability to reach above shoulder height.
  • Requires sitting or standing for extensive periods.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to direct patient contact, with potential for exposure to blood, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other clinic-related conditions.
