About the Role
Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking Radiologic Technologists to join our team. We offer full-time, part-time, and per diem opportunities with a sign-on bonus of up to $25,000. Shift: 7 pm - 7 am (three 12-hour shifts).
Responsibilities
- Prepares patients for examination, including positioning and executing specialty radiologic examinations.
- Assists radiologist/physician in patient care during procedures.
- Reviews patient medical records to verify physician's orders prior to examination.
- Cross-trains in other specialty areas/departments/facilities to enhance skills when workload demands.
- Inspects films for quality and ensures proper patient identification (name, date, medical record number) before interpretation by a Radiologist.
- Assists with training new technologists and technical assistants in assigned procedures.
- Demonstrates competency and observes safety guidelines when operating specialized equipment.
- Implements Standard Precautions on all patients as directed by hospital policy.
- Adjusts to variable schedules and procedure techniques as required.
- Adheres to MSMC’s Personnel Radiation dosimeter Policy.
- Reports equipment malfunctions to lead tech/supervisor and clinical engineering immediately.
- Maintains and stocks examination rooms with necessary supplies.
- Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of computer programs, including EPIC and SYNAPSE systems.
- Completes exam data entry and necessary paperwork for all studies performed daily.
- Attends monthly department staff meetings as scheduled.
- Proficient in 3D post-processing (Circle of Willis, Aorta, Boney Extremities, Carotids).
- Proficient in Peripheral IV Catheter placement.
- Proficient in performing and documenting Phantom Quality Control on Siemens & GE Scanners.
- Proficient in operating Siemens & GE CT units.
Requirements
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (CT).
- Current Florida General Radiographer license from the Department of HRS, Radiation Control.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
- Graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology Program or equivalent.
- Two years of clinical experience and/or ability to perform CT Angio, Cystograms, Virtual Colonography, TAVR, Enterography, and Rectal Contrast exams.
