About the role

The CT Tech Aide works in the CT area, supporting the CT Technologist and ensuring efficient patient flow.

Responsibilities

• Follows all CT Safety Policies.
• Screens patients, obtains clinical history, and reviews with the CT Technologist.
• Greets patients promptly and courteously.
• Assists with patient changes, positioning, and transportation.
• Ensures patient discharge and monitors safe access to the CT suite.
• Stocks scan rooms and linen closets.
• Completes special projects as requested.
• Reads and responds to emails appropriately.
• Acts as a resource person for CT.
• Answers questions and relays messages.
• Operates the intercom.
• Coordinates with nursing staff and supports services.
• Notifies nursing staff of STAT orders.
• Enters orders using Epic.
• Retrieves lab results.
• Prints rounds report, daily census, etc.
• Cancels orders.
• Discharges patients.
• Calls STAT orders.
• Files reports into the patient's chart.
• Orders supplies from Stores and vendors.
• Orders nutrition from the Nutrition and Foods Dept.
• Orders services from Facilities, Environmental Services.
• Provides CT preparation in a confidential area.
• Cleans CT room after each patient.
• Assists with patient dressing and undressing.
• Assists CT Technologists with lifting, turning, moving, and positioning of patients.
• Reads correct information on patient name bands.
• Matches orders with control sheet.
• Ensures physicians' orders are obtained prior to patient appointments.
• Communicates waiting patients to CT Technologists.
• Inform patients of any delays to appointments.
