CT/MRI Technologist - PRN

This position will support the Dallas Imaging and Infusion Center. This is a PRN role and can be a level 1, 2, or Senior based on candidate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performs CT and MRI procedures as ordered, achieving a high level of quality
  • Offers expertise to physicians regarding appropriateness of additional or modified studies
  • Escorts patients to treatment room and assists with dressings as necessary
  • Completes all paperwork necessary to ensure timely delivery of CT/MRI services
  • Develops and processes radiologic films
  • Logs radiologic procedures completed and processes routine paperwork
  • Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards
  • Ensures the safety and physical comfort of the patient while in technologist’s care
  • Conducts daily quality control measures to monitor machine performance; reports malfunctions or need for adjustments
  • Arranges preventive maintenance as recommended by vendor
  • Follows prescribed safety standards in operating equipment
  • Orders, logs, and returns outside films requested from other agencies; completes appropriate documentation
  • Arranges for the release of films to patients and outside agencies
  • Maintains paperwork for tracking loaned films
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients and medical staff

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:

  • Level 1:
    • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited school
    • Minimum three years of experience as a CT/MRI Technologist
    • Certification as a registered radiologic technologist (ARRT) required
    • Current IV and CPR certifications required
    • Certification in CT and MRI preferred
  • Level 2 (in addition to Level 1 requirements):
    • Minimum five years of experience as a CT/MRI Technologist
  • Senior Level (in addition to Level 1 and 2 requirements):
    • Minimum seven years of experience as a CT/MRI Technologist

Working Conditions

The work environment involves regular exposure to direct patient contact with potential for exposure to blood, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, and other conditions common to a clinic setting.

Physical Requirements

  • Full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination for operation and repair of equipment
  • Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Lifts and pushes patients in wheelchairs/stretchers weighing up to 300 pounds and positions them for equipment operation
  • Ability to reach above shoulder height
  • Requires sitting and standing for extensive periods
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range
