About the role
The Full-time CT Clerical Assistant is responsible for accurate CT documentation and assistance to the CT Department with all non-clinical tasks. This includes report generation and editing, data collection and archival, and supporting pre-scan and post-scan activities. The role supports the CT Manager, CT Technologists, and CT nursing staff in the operation of the CT Department.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily preparation of the CT schedule to ensure high-quality studies, excellent patient and physician satisfaction, and operational efficiency, with support to the CT Manager, CT Technologists, CT Nurses, and physicians.
- Handle all Personal Health Information (PHI) with complete discretion.
- Ensure CT pre-test and post-test paperwork is accurate and complete to facilitate prompt and accurate reporting of test results.
- Confirm billing matches the ordering diagnosis and remove completed orders.
- Edit and finalize CT reports from Cardiology and Radiology, and maintain documentation of generated reports.
- Request, retrieve, and prepare outside images and reports needed for comparison studies; create CDs or use cloud transfer as needed.
- Assist CT nursing with schedule preparation for future appointments.
- Maintain the schedule, including sending appointment text reminders for radiology departments.
- Work alongside the CT clerical assistant, CT Technologists, CT nurses, CT Manager, and physicians to ensure smooth operational workflow within the department.
Requirements
- Strong computer and documentation skills.
- Timely and accurate preparation of clerical needs in the CT Department.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products; additional medical software knowledge preferred.
- Good working knowledge of general office procedures.
