About the role
Provides on-going religious and spiritual assessment, interventions, and evaluation as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Responsibilities
- Conducts individual, group, and family pastoral care and counseling.
- Provides and documents consultation to treatment teams on issues of religious concern and spiritual care for patients.
- Provides pastoral care for employees as requested.
- Plans and conducts hospital worship, holiday, special occasion, funeral, and memorial services and liturgies.
- Provides consultation on ethics and patient rights to patients, treatment teams, and hospital management.
- Liaison with community religious groups, agencies, and institutions to coordinate religious care of patients, religious volunteer services, and special programming or service needs for patients.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited theological or divinity school with a master's or doctorate degree in divinity, theology, or related field.
- Ordination and/or denominational or ecclesiastical endorsement.
- At least two units of Clinical Pastoral Education, one of which is accomplished in a psychiatric setting.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
