Cryogenic Assembly Engineer

Role Overview

At IBM Research, you'll join a team accelerating discovery at the intersection of high-performance computing, AI, quantum, and cloud. You'll collaborate with leading scientists, engineers, and visionaries to push boundaries and turn ideas into reality.

Responsibilities

• Work independently or in collaboration with other engineers, scientists, or technicians in support of the quantum development program.
• Assemble, install, operate, and maintain complex cryogenic equipment that cools quantum devices.
• Use hand tools and operate/maintain cryogenic or high vacuum equipment.
• Operate and maintain dilution refrigerators.
• Install devices, wiring, and associated components in cryogenic environments.
• Read and understand process flow and process & instrumentation drawings.
• Assemble electronic and/or microwave systems.
• Computer-aided design of mechanical components and assemblies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Required
• Mechanical assembly skills, including reading assembly drawings, bills of materials, procedures, and similar documentation.
